both published sources and original research, perceiving patterns and crystallising
a coherent picture which is intellectually rigorous but accessible to the general
reader. He writes from a global perspective with a distinctive voice. Publishing

and Central Africa, published by Macmillan, 1989. Commissioned byt the Seychelles

by Barclays Bank to research and write the bank's Guide to Doing Business in Kenya.
Commissioned by the Institute of Economic Affairs to research and write an
analysis of the decline of Kenya's tourist industry which was published as part
of Our Problems, Our Solutions. Commissioned by the Central Bank of Kenya
to write a chapter on wildlife for the Kenya Government coffee table book Portrait
of Kenya. Editor of the Price Waterhouse Hotel Survey for Kenya. Has written
a wide range of training programmes, case studies, corporate guides and manuals
